Hill Rom Bed Parts – Minimize Hospital Bed "Downtime" With This Strategy

We all know how critical “Downtime” can be to the profitability of a factory. Downtime equals lost productivity and lost productivity equals lost revenue. In the medical arena, Hospital Beds are just as critical to a medical facility’s profitability. In fact, we often gauge a Hospital’s size and market share by the number of beds it has.

This article will show you how to minimize downtime caused by faulty Hill Rom beds at your facility. Read the entire article and you will have a guaranteed strategy to make sure your hospital won’t lose money from hospital beds being out of service.

Before addressing the solution, it is best to fully understand the problem. When a medical bed fails it is an inconvenience to the patient, staff, and repair personnel. If a patient is in the faulty bed, he or she must be moved to another bed in order to trouble-shoot the problem. This presents a hassle for the staff and puts pressure on the repair technician.

An “out of service” bed takes up precious hospital real estate. In addition, one less bed often means one less available room to offer medical patients. Less rooms equals less revenue. If your medical center has a high number of bed failures one month, this can represent a real loss of income.

The solution to this problem. Is to have a proactive strategy. Here is the best strategy I have found for resolving Hill Rom Hospital bed downtime:

1.  Have a few good loaner beds that can be swapped out for faulty ones in patient rooms.

2.  Have a trouble-shooting area where bed problems can be assessed.

3.  Have technical staff who can isolate the problem to a board or motor

4.  Have a an exchange program for Hill Rom bed parts

5.  Exchange parts as needed and put beds back in service

This simple strategy will make it very easy to stop the “financial bleeding” at your hospital caused by a Hill Rom bed being out of service.

A Hill-Rom parts exchange program will also save you loads of money when compared to OEM on-site service. To find a quality exchange program for your beds, use the resource section below.

Windshields play an essential part in automobiles but a lot of drivers are not aware of this fact. Windshields will serve as structural shield and support for the roofs of automobiles. In addition, windshields will protect drivers and the passengers as well from wind and other elements. Because they play such essential tasks, they must be constructed well and there must not be any room for error during the process of manufacturing. Manufacturers must guarantee the quality of the products before they are going to install them to the automobiles.

On the other hand, hundreds of people pass away every year due to car accidents since they were thrown away from their automobiles. At times, these cracks begin as little as the tip of a needle which can be caused by mechanical stress, temperature deviation and rocks. But regardless of the reasons behind the scratch or crack, it is very important to act on windshield replacements before it will be too late. As mentioned earlier, windshields are there to shelter you from any object flying on the air. Therefore, waiting for too long to replace faulty windshields might actually become a troublesome element of the automobile. More than 12,000 fatalities every year come from individuals who are being thrown away from their cars.

How to Purchase a Used Automobile: Tips From the Auto Insurance Guys

These days, purchasing a new car requires a lot of money. For those looking for another option due to the financial output, shopping for a used car may be a good bet. Of course, a previously owned car, no matter how sleek and shiny may have hidden disadvantages.

Below find tips from some finely-tuned insurance professionals on how to go about the task of shopping for a used car.

8 Ways to Get a Good Deal on a Previously-Owned Car

• Decide How Much You Can Spend on the Purchase

Prior to shopping around for a good used car, do a personal financial tally. Then focus only on buys you can afford – whether via financing or full payment method.

• Choose the Right Kind of Vehicle

Unmarried people without kids do not need a big car. On the other side of the coin, married folks with children in tow could use a larger car. Recreational drivers, long-distance drivers and city or highway drivers have different needs as well. Assess your individual requirements, then shop for the car that matches them.

• Check Out Prices and Repair Frequency

Look online to determine what you should be paying for car makes and models according to year and usage. This search will also let you know what type of vehicles requires less maintenance work and what type has less mechanical headaches.

• Learn about the Car’s Past

Research a particular car’s history by putting in the Vehicle Information Numbers. This will get you to a full report about past collisions, owners and even recorded maintenance and repair jobs.

• Test the Car out by Taking it for a Spin

Drive your prospective car purchase over a calculated route that includes hills, bumps, curves and highway maneuvering. This way, you’ll get an idea how the overall driving ability is.

• Get a Professional Mechanic’s Opinion

Enlist your favorite mechanic in the decision by hiring him or her to inspect the car for surface problems that a layman like you may not be able to detect.

• Use Your Price-Negotiating Skills

Utilize the knowledge you have gained from all your research on the car to negotiate a price that fairly reflects its true value.

And Last But Surely Not Least

• Don’t Forget About Auto Insurance

Before completing the buying process, speak to an experienced independent insurance agent about insurance for the vehicle. After binding the policy, sign the contract, pay, and you are good to go. No worries about the possibility of no coverage on the road to home!

Now that you have a new (used) automobile take care of it with good maintenance practices and remember to keep driving safety a priority.

Happy driving!

How to Work Out an Automobile Debt Settlement

All of us are tired of the problems pertaining to transportation, and who does not like to possess a car of his own? In addition, sometimes we need to buy automobiles like trucks and vans when we have our own business and they are required for the easy transportation of goods and services. In addition, when we do not have enough funds of our own, we opt for automobile loans. In addition, all our mirth of getting a new car or truck soon changes to despair when due to unforeseen circumstances we find that we are unable to pay back the loans and most likely, our beloved car would be foreclosed. Knowing a few things about automobile debt settlement could come in handy in such cases.

Reasons for High Interests in Car Loans: This might be a little more difficult than other types of debt settlement programs. Moreover, the rates of interest for automobile loans charged by the creditors are significantly higher than other types of loans. This is because of the highly volatile nature of the asset itself. Even if you have had put the car up as a collateral while applying for the loan, the creditor might find that it is simply not there when they decide to go for foreclosure.

Because the car might have been damaged beyond repair in an accident, and the insurance might refuse to pay up citing a variety of excuses or an unfaithful debtor might simply have driven it out of town without informing them. Alternatively, maybe, the car may simply lose all its value due to poor maintenance. So, before taking out an automobile loan, be sure about your methods to pay them back.

How Can you Negotiate: Because the creditors usually look forward to the collateral for the repayment, chances are that they would settle for a loan reduction if they find the condition of the car less than satisfactory. In addition, if they find that the reduced amount that they would get from the debtor would be more than the value of the automobile, if foreclosed.

This usually happens in the case of accidents when rising medical bills and car loans have to be settled together. Also, if you can provide proper documents and slips regarding your financial distress, considerate creditors would often agree to a negotiation. Providing the address of your garage, for their security can also help you to gain their trust. You can also show them your record of successfully paying off your previous debts, which again helps in most cases.

With a little bit of saving and careful negotiation it is indeed possible to save your car from foreclosure. You should know your options and the laws to make it as better as you can

Benefits of Having a Hospital Information System in Place

Hospital information systems (HIS) are all-inclusive, integrated information systems that can single-handedly manage medical, financial, administrative, and legal aspects related to a hospital and its service processing. Hospital management is a complex task and requires a comprehensive information support system. In today’s generation, hospitals are heavily dependent on the ability of such systems to help in the diagnosis and management, to ensure better health services. It is essentially a computer-based system that supports health care providers to serve people best. First introduced in the 1960s, these hospital management systems have evolved big time and now are capable of performing the most advanced functions. Real time data is what these systems are capable of providing, and this is one of the biggest advantage of an hospital information system.

Although, having a modernized system may cost you a significant amount, all the investment is worth making. Eventually, it leads to greater savings and more returns.

Benefits unveiled

A user-friendly hospital information system offers a number of benefits to a hospital, not just limited to superior patient care. An excellent hospital management system has to be patient centric and also medical staff centric. It should be cost-effective and scalable, which is the icing on the cake. The dynamic technological change calls for a flexible system that can accommodate the new developments.

Listed below are the key benefits of a patient management system.

• Improved information integrity

• Simplified access to patient records

• Reduced errors – transcription and duplication of information

• Improved report turnaround times.

In this modern-day, a HIS is connected to a web of computer via an optimized network. A program in these computers enables it to collect, process and also retrieve information related to patient care and admin, thereby ensuring a good ROI and service delivery.

For improved patient care and security, it is inevitable to install a HIS. A properly implemented hospital information system, is capable of not only improving patient care via timeliness and accuracy of records, but also help in systematic storage of admin information. A simplified access to a patient’s records is a doctor’s dream, and a patient management system is capable of this and much more.

HIS is a cost-effective tool

Standardized hospital management systems enhance cost control via increased efficiency and productivity. Besides, it eliminates the delay usually caused by missing records or incomplete information. The data is assembled in a highly systematic manner, paving way for easy access to crucial information such as bed occupancy rates, patient lists, stock of medicines, vaccines, etc.

Hospital Cost Amongst the Insured Vs Uninsured

Most people assume that if they have to go to the hospital that it will be a costly experience. While this thought process has some merit, it becomes a bit more complicated when you consider the disparity in hospital cost amongst insured vs. uninsured.

Hospitals charge the highest fees to those who are uninsured. Fees can range from 2 times to 5 times more than those fees charged to individuals who are insured. In fact, those who are insured or those who are on Medicare typically receive discounted medical services. There are instances where hospitals provide "self pay" discounts. However, many times these discounts mean little or nothing when you consider the initial rate that a "self pay" individual is charged. When a person has insurance, the insurance companies will often negotiate bills for the insured (if the charged price seems excessive). That being the case, hospitals will typically charge a reasonable price (initially) for those who are insured. On the other hand, if you are not insured, you must negotiate the payment yourself. Unfortunately, most people do not have any education or experience in negotiating a medical bill. Think about it … how successful do you think a person would be negotiating a purchase of a new car if they had no one to refer to except the entity selling the car? Though my point is driven home by this analogy, it's truly unfair … there are many more people to turn to who have purchased automobiles than individuals who are versed in negotiating hospital bills.

In a 2005 60 minute expose, Dan rather reported on Carlos and Peggy Ferlini. The family did not make enough to purchase a health insurance plan (or chose to budget other things as a priority). Carlos installed and repaired gutters for a living. Unfortunately, during the line of work, Carlos fell off of a roof and was rushed to the hospital. Mr. Ferlini suffered from a fractured skull and ribs and punctured one lung. Mr. Ferlini spent more than 2 weeks in the hospital before he was sent home. Soon after, the Ferlini's received a bill for $ 246,000! Imagine a family, who has decided that their monthly budget could not withstand the cost of health insurance, receiving a bill for $ 246,000! The family contacted Forbes (a community activist) who stated that the charges could be equated to "price gouging". Also, that "what happened to the ferlini's is all to common".

Forbes and staff analyzed the Ferlini's bill based on info that American hospitals are required to submit to the federal government each year. The result of the findings were that "while the hospital was charging the Ferlini's almost a quarter of a million dollars, it would accept just under $ 50,000 as full payment from an insurance company for the same treatment." Shameful!

There is a popular misconception by many who choose to utilize county hospitals due to their lack of health insurance. Many individuals believe that they can simply go to the county hospital, get treated and "walk" on the bill. Actually, county hospitals have been known to sue individuals who have not paid. The result of losing a lawsuit could lead to court ordered payments, liens being placed on an individuals home and / or garnished wages.

Finally, there is a disparity of treatment between the uninsured vs. the insured. Treatment begins with what the uninsured is charged by no means is limited to that. The Obama health reform requires all United States citizens to have health insurance by 2014 or be penalized. Hopefully, this will help. However, if hospitals have been charging higher rates to the uninsured for years, then you can't help but assume that they have profited due to the higher charges (either by actual profit intake or the ability to write off losses of those who never pay ). That begs the question … "where will they make up the difference?" The healthcare plight and debate continues to evolve. Stay tuned and stay informed!
